A life of its own

As for the lack of maintenance and new posts by us on this blog, it seems the comments sections have taken on a life of their own...which is better than we could have hoped for.  It may not be the most organized blog around, but we're not going to meddle.

Happy holidays~

Principal attempts to out anonymous blogger

An anonymous blog that allegedly libels the principal at Norman Thomas High School is the subject of a application to a court by the principal to compel Google to disclose information about the blogger.

Articles are here and here.  There are others referred to on gothamschools.org

We don't know who the blog's author is either, but we do know that truth is an absolute defense to a libel action.

Dear so-and-so...

If you could write a letter to Dwarka, Walcott, Bloomberg or someone else, what would you say?  Who knows, they may be reading this blog more than their own email.

Celebratory email

Did you get the "celebratory email from the UFT" that this gothamschools.org article refers to?  Maybe that should be the next blog poll.

Is confusion reigning?  Seems calm at the lake here, just a few frogs croaking...

Spread the word

We sent the original email about this blog to every email on Bryant's web site (except for Dwarka, but we're sure she'll find out), but some of the emails bounced.  If you are in touch with others from Bryant, please tell them about the blog.

We are the 70%

Bryant High School is one of the 24 NYC schools slated for turnaround, but like the others, was given a reprieve by the arbitrator. Namita Dwarka is the principal at Bryant.  She was supposed to accept 50% of the teachers back to the school, but only accepted 30% in an attempt to ``clean house''.  What will Dwarka's authority look like when ``the 70%'' return to work in September?
